JES (Johnstone, Eduarda and Jesus) Lda was formed in 1996 by Paul Johnstone, Maria Eduarda Joaquim and Maria Jesus Pinto Mestre.

These three dedicated individuals have a multitude of skills, abilities and many years experience in all aspects of managing a quality company, mixed together with a desire and passion to provide Just Excellent Service to property owners that have made an investment in Villas or Apartments in the Algarve, Portugal. To this day their friendship, trust and mutual respect forms a solid foundation for building the JES team and this camaraderie is the basis for their success.

JES Property Management’s principle goal and mission is to ensure all owners and guests have a relaxing and stress-free time whilst visiting their investment in the Sunny Algarve. Our international clientele come from all walks of life; professional people, VIPs, celebrities, footballers, CEO’s and retired couples. All owners and guests are greeted with a friendly welcome, from a trustworthy team that provides an excellent service, covering all eventualities, 24 hours a day.

Paul Johnstone

Managing Director

Born and brought up in Kendal in the beautiful Lake District in the North of England, Paul strives for perfection when managing his team of multi-disciplined individuals.

He is a time-served, fully trained Electrical & Mechanical Engineer, qualified to HNC standard with proven experience in Project Management for commercial and defence projects. Paul is also qualified to HNC standard in Business & Finance, along with a BA Hons in Business Studies.

This provides a very sound foundation in providing the best maintenance credentials to lead the Technical Support and Projects team. He also has extensive knowledge of Condominium Management and has helped set up several successful Tourism Resorts, in his capacity of Resort Consultant.

Paul’s countryside home on the outskirts of Loulé provides him with a bolt hole from the long hours, stresses and strains of running a successful business in the Algarve and he enjoys quality time with his 4 energetic Labradors. He lets off steam by supporting his beloved Manchester United who he tries to see as often as his demanding job allows, whilst taking every opportunity to team-build by cycling, go-karting, tennis and ten pin bowling. Maria Eduarda

Financial Director

Born just before the New Year in the wintry cold of Sunny Algarve, she has always shown a lot of determination and tenacity. At the age of 5 she emigrated to Africa with her family where she experienced first-hand the beauty of the African Wildlife, the open spaces and contact with people from all parts of the world.

She had a richly rewarding career of 26 years with IBM South Africa, whose basic principles and beliefs, particularly their motto of ‘Excellence must be a way of life’ has remained with her and she still tries to apply this experience in her everyday working life. Destiny would have it that she returned to her native Algarve 20 years ago, (this time on a hot Summer’s day) where she met two wonderful people and work colleagues, Paul Johnstone and Maria Jesus Pinto Mestre.

Maria Jesus Pinto Mestre

Director of Housekeeping

Brought up in a farming community in the Portuguese Alentejo, Maria Jesus has worked in Hotels with high expectations and strict rules of cleanliness. She has passed her 30 years of experience onto her present staff; she uses her specific eye for detail to manage her maids, running a very tight housekeeping ship.

Along with Paul’s guidance and Maria Eduarda’s administration skills, she was instrumental in the creation of Johnstone, Eduarda and Jesus at a time when quality Property Management companies were few and far between. 15 years later she is proud to be part of JES, a successful and dedicated property management company in the Algarve.

She lives just north of the Golden Triangle, in the popular town of Loulé with her son, daughter and beloved West Highland White terrier, Amy.
